Insuret and ATL, two bespoke Underwriting Agencies in the Transport and Mobility sector, have announced they will come together in 2026 to form a unified national platform dedicated to fleet and trucking insurance.
The combined business will bring together complementary strengths, expanded capability, and a broader national footprint to better serve Australia’s rapidly evolving transport and mobility sector.
Insuret, founded in 2007 by Jason McDonnell, is recognised for its market leading and bespoke insurance products for rental car fleets, peer-to-peer operators, rideshare platforms, and subscription-based mobility providers. ATL, founded in 2009, specialises in insurance solutions for small to medium transport operators, with deep expertise in heavy motor and commercial transport risks. Both companies’ issue insurance on behalf of Hollard.
The integration follows Insuret’s entry into the Envest Group two years ago and represents a strategic step toward building a stronger, more scalable specialist platform. As part of the transition, founder Jason McDonnell will step back from day-to-day leadership, with Jason Hawksworth, current CEO of ATL, appointed to lead the combined team.
This month, both businesses relocated to a combined head office at Level 7, 545 Queen Street, establishing a shared operational base.
Hawksworth said the integration positions the businesses for long-term growth: “By bringing Insuret and ATL together, we’re creating a national specialist platform with unmatched capability across fleet, mobility, and heavy motor insurance. Our combined expertise allows us to deliver more innovative products, deeper industry insight, and stronger support for customers navigating an increasingly complex transport landscape.”
This business alignment comes at a time of significant expansion across both the mobility and transport sectors:
- The Australian ridesharing market is experiencing continued rapid growth, with global rideshare demand expected to more than double by 2030, driven by the success of platforms such as Uber and rising urbanisation.
- Demand for ridesharing services in Australia’s major cities has grown rapidly over the past decade, supported by legalisation across all states and territories and increasing difficulty accessing parking in urban centres.
- Australia’s road freight and trucking sector remains one of the country’s largest logistics industries, with revenue reaching $73 billion in 2025–26 and employing more than 164,000 people nationwide—reflecting sustained long-term growth in freight demand.
Together, Insuret and ATL will continue to offer unique, highly specialised products tailored to the needs of rental, rideshare, subscription and transport operators—supporting the sector’s growth with smart, flexible insurance solutions.
