Big insurers who invest early in emerging technologies will be best placed to ride a coming insurtech typhoon, predicts Andrew Rear — but he says the expected disruption is more likely to wear out latecomers gradually than to overturn them suddenly.

London-based Rear leads Munich Re Digital Partners, which he describes as the world’s biggest partner of insurtech managing general agents (MGAs).
